Major Infrastructure

Our project will implement comprehensive transportation and water management plans to assure that we do not add to existing local burdens and that we help facilitate new county infrastructure capacity.

Transportation Summary

Our transportation plan includes the following components:

Toolkit Major Road

1. Building a four-lane parkway at the project's expense through our site providing a new connection between Highway 25 and Highway 101;

2. Contributing $170 million to the San Benito County Council of Governments (COG) towards major highway improvements in San Benito County. While many people have told us that the widening of Highway 25 is their top priority, the COG is the responsible agency for making final decisions regarding highway improvements;

3. Encouraging alternative transportation options with a shuttle fleet, building a Community Transportation and Telecommuting Center, and providing project residents with access to regional transit options; and

4. Integrating our shuttle and roadway system with Hollister and San Juan Bautista businesses to stimulate the local economy.

Water and Wastewater Summary

The project's water and wastewater plan includes the following:

Toolkit Major

1. Constructing and fully funding the operation of onsite water and wastewater treatment facilities that will accommodate all of the project's needs;

2. Employing state-of-the-art onsite water conservation and treatment and disposal technologies;

3. Supporting the San Benito County Water District's long-term groundwater and water management goals;

4. Verifying project water supplies in full compliance with California requirements; and

5. Cooperating with the City of Hollister's water and wastewater treatment goals and plans to the extent desirable or feasible.
