We propose to accomplish this goal by stimulating job creation, attracting new, high- quality employers to the county, and supporting county tourism.
Job Creation and Employer Development
El Rancho San Benito will generate an estimated 1,800 construction jobs per year over the planned ten to twelve year residential build-out period. The comprehensive plan for the El Rancho San Benito project is projected to facilitate approximately 8,800 new permanent jobs in the county. The project includes commercial and light industrial space to help attract high quality employers that will complement ongoing airport area industrial development. We will work with the county to implement an aggressive national employer relocation campaign and to design a business plan to capture jobs created by businesses in emerging and high-growth sectors.
Tourism
El Rancho San Benito will include a new Visitors Center along Highway 25 to support county tourism and local businesses. The project will also work with the county and local business groups to market San Benito County as a destination location.
